Slotland Review

I have to say, I was a bit confused when I first visited Slotland. I think it’s because I’ve been visiting so many casinos based on Microgaming, Vegas Tech and RTG software that I’ve come to expect a certain format – all casinos based on the major software vendors have an obvious similarity, both in features and in looks.

Different right off the bat

In many cases, it’s almost as though you’re just visiting the same casino over and over, but with different wallpaper each time. Slotland, however, throws that paradigm right out of the window. It simply is like no other online casino you have ever played at.

If I had to summarise in a word what this casino is about, I’d have to say games. Games, games, games. There is no frilly lounge, no chat rooms, nothing like that, it’s simply about getting your gaming fix without having to wait around for it. It’s a novel approach, and in my opinion, it works.

Consider that they’ve been running since 1998, without ever once bowing to the conventions that other online casinos seem to have adopted as standard. That’s more than 10 years in operation – they must be doing something right.

No download

To start with, there’s no software to download, at all. Everything is delivered to you right there in your browser. This is significant for a couple of reasons. There’s no waiting while a little app downloads, there’s no hassle with installation, but most importantly, it’s completely platform independent.

This means it runs just as well from a Mac computer as it does from a Windows computer. Or a Linux computer, for that matter. Even better, the lack of installation means that you can play anywhere, any time – you don’t have to be at your own computer. That’s a lot of flexibility.

Mobile Casino

Moreover, Slotland have embraced the concept of mobile gaming, so in reality all you need to be able to play at Slotland is a device with an internet connection. That’s right – Slotland was one of the first casinos to optimise themselves for mobile phones, and they continue to pioneer in this area.

Slots and crd games

In terms of the games themselves, the big feature is obviously the video slots. Surprisingly, the selection is small – only fourteen different slots are available. However, the key is that all of them contribute to a single progressive jackpot which regularly climbs into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

So therefore, what Slotland may lack in size, they more than make up for in quality. The approach seems to be to keep the selection small but excellent, and give all players equally the chance of cracking the progressive jackpot.

Additionally, there are five different card games, including Jacks or Better, Striking Sevens, Double Joker Poker, FourCast, and a cool variation on Blackjack called SpaceJack.

Banking

Slotland accepts most of the standard deposit options you’d expect – major credit cards are fine. You can also use NETeller, eWalletXpress, INSTADEBIT, and Moneybookers. For withdrawals, all of the alternative methods listed above are supported, as well as wire transfers and cheques.
